Norwood acquires Australian parts business

Norwood Agriculture Pty Ltd has reached an agreement with BYPY Australia to take over the distribution of Bondioli and Pavesi PTO driveline and gearbox parts in Australia.
The agreement takes effect from 18 July 2011 and will see Norwood operate the business as BYPY Transmissions and utilise the existing parts distribution warehouse located in Dandenong, Victoria.
BYPY’s staff will be employed by Norwood while the company’s founder, Mark Hassett will stay on to assist Norwood through the transition period.

“BYPY was originally established in 1987 and has continuously held the exclusive rights to import the product range of Bondioli and Pavesi PTO shafts and related parts and components for 23 years. BYPY was also awarded the exclusive distribution rights for the Bondioli and Pavesi gearbox product range in 2010 and this represents an exciting new area of growth for the business.
Bondioli & Pavesi was founded in Suzzara, Italy in 1950 and are leaders in the design, production and sales of motion transmission components. It was the first Italian company in the farming equipment sector to provide a complete transmission system and has extended its range of products and services continuously.
Today Bondioli & Pavesi works in over 50 countries and exports account for over 80% of its turnover. The success of this continuous growth strategy is due to paying close attention to customer needs and a policy of R & D, innovative manufacturing processes and the continuous input of new ideas, often implemented in co-operation with machinery manufacturers.
Norwood was founded in New Zealand in 1948 and has grown to be the leading distributor and retailer of tractors and equipment in that country. In 2009, Norwood initiated an expansion into the Australian market and Norwood Agriculture Pty Ltd was established to invest in Australian farm machinery retail dealerships and distribution activities.
Norwood currently operates five agricultural dealerships in Victoria under the Norwood Farm Machinery Centre and Godings trading names at Horsham and Swan Hill, and Whittlesea, Rockbank and Mansfield respectively. Norwood also distributes the Berthoud range of self propelled and trailed sprayers.
